Solution? What Solution?

Happy New Year!  Welcome to higher taxes! Yes, that’s right, Democrats, along with a minority of the majority Republicans in the House, voted to raise your taxes as part of the deal to avert the “fiscal cliff”!  The Senate approved the measure and Obama, the champion of the middle class, signed off on the deal that will strip money from your paycheck.  FYI, I’m firmly middle class. In addition to raising taxes on the “rich”, liberals on both side of the aisle and in the White House also approved the end to the 2% FICA tax rate cut which you, I, and millions of Americans had been enjoying.  That’s ok in their minds though.  See, they are hoping that with the New Year, you’ll be getting a raise of more than 2% and that you won’t notice that they have increased your taxes and your take home pay has gone down. It’s a sneaky psychological ploy for sure, hoping that they can sneak this one by as many people as possible.  But it is just typical liberalism, pure and simple.  Still, as prices continue to inflate faster than pay rates are going up, I do have to wonder how many people will be left scratching their heads when their checks start rolling in. Most people I know haven’t received more than a one or two percent raise (if any) each year since Obama was first elected.  I worry, for myself and my family, that our pay is basically going to be stagnant from last year.  That means that there will not be extra money to do the things we need to do Vacation?  Probably that can be completely forgotten about now.  Too bad for all those seasonal workers at the beach who won’t have us visiting their restaurants and attractions.  Sorry guys and gals. New car for the wife?  Oh, she needs one, but looks like it will be at least another year and, probably, a used car to help save money.  Sorry to all you union autoworkers.  And I’m doubly sorry to all you non-union autoworkers. Good thing there’s been the NHL lockout this year, because I have saved some money by not having to pay for my season tickets. But, even with the money saved by that situation, I was hoping have enough money to put new windows in the house and get the sewer line permanently fixed.  Well, guess what?  Looks like one or the other now and not both.  Hope whomever doesn’t get my business this year understands that I wanted to hire them, but liberals in Washington forced my hand. But there’s a really painful thing that resulted from the “fiscal cliff” deal that few are talking about.  That painful thing is that spending was left unchecked.  Yes, the government will still be spending more this year than it will bring in.  And by a lot!  It’s going to be another year and another trillion dollar plus deficit for Washington DC.  That’s another $3,000 in debt for every man, woman, and child in America. So, I say again, happy New Year!  And to all you who voted for liberals?  Well, you own it! Solution? What Solution? by J.J. Jackson syndicated from The Land of the Free .

Harry Reid Strikes Again With Obstructionism!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D- NV) is probably the largest obstructionist in Washington DC these days.  What is funny, however, is when he obstructs President Obama. As we all know, President Obama made a proposal, correctly called “unserious”, for avoiding the looming “fiscal cliff”.  The plan was basically soak the “rich” and maybe, possibly, we’ll cut some loosely defined spending a decade down the line.  That proposal would not, obviously, have solved anything.  But it would have made the far left base of the Democratic party, people who just adore socialism and believe there is always more of someone else’s money to spend, very happy. Following the “plan” being divulged, the media was agog and trumpeted the “fact” that Obama had a plan, while Republicans had none.  Yep, the same old, pathetic playbook whereby the liberal media ignores the real facts in favor of made up ones. Yet this week, did you know that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) tried to get the Senate to vote on Obama’s proposal.  Yep.  It’s true.  The attempt came in the form of an amendment attached to a Russian trade bill (H.R. 6156). So, was there a vote?  Nope.  Harry Reid nixed that attempt and called it a “political stunt”.  Yes, Heaven forbid that a vote would actually be taken on his own party’s President’s proposal.  Logically, this means that Harry Reid believes the President’s proposal was a “political stunt” as well.  Thanks for admitting the truth it Harry, even if it is in a roundabout, convoluted manner. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad.  Democrats won’t even stand up and go on the record supporting or denouncing their own President’s plan.  Of course, this is the same Senate that has voted against budgets proposed by President Obama 99-0 when actually forced to do so. All this is nothing new.  Harry Reid has been pulling this sort of stunt so many times over the past few years to protect Democrats from actually going on the record that it has basically turned the Senate into a three ring circus.  And it seems clear that Democrats are determined to force a jump come January. That’s ok.  I’ll agree to that.  Only on one condition.  I get to push all the whiney liberals off first, along with all their precious entitlements doers like myself pay for.  That way, when my turn comes, I will have a nice pile of bodies to cushion my fall.  After all, why should someone like myself, a doer who understands the problem, suffer because of liberals too stupid and stubborn to take proper action? It just doesn’t seem “fair”, and aren’t’ liberals all about “fairness”? Oh, that’s right, liberals believe that “fairness” is them getting what they want and being allowed to loot the treasury until they have gotten it. Moderate Romney Fails To Deliver for GOP

So, how’s that whole, “Let’s nominate the next in line, moderate, GOP establishment candidate” working out? Answer: Not good. Not good at all. You know, sooner or later you cranky Republicans pulling the levers and switches of the party are going to listen to me. That is, if you ever want to win another Presidential race. I mean, seriously, with as unpopular as President Obama is, and with the horrid economy which is slogging along, it should have been a cakewalk to defeat him. But Hell, instead you nominate a guy who couldn’t even match uber wishy-washy, moderate John McCain’s voter turnout in 2008! How is that even possible? Well, it’s possible because Romney simply did not enthuse conservatives. The numbers don’t lie. John McCain got 58,343,671 votes in 2008 [1]. Mitt Romney, the reinvented Mitt Romney who waved his magic wand to make his liberal ways go bye-bye, only garnered around 58,228,980 [2] in 2012 (as of November 9th @ 5:08 PM). How do you explain that with anti-Obama sentiment running so high? You can’t, other than to say that Romney was the same, or worse, than McCain from the perspective of conservative leaning Americans. The funny thing however is that he wasn’t. Romney was actually better than McCain. Yeah, he’s still a left leaning, moderate, north-east style Republican, but better none-the-less. Even despite this, enough conservatives obviously made a stand and said no more to the plague of inferior candidates who won’t actually solve America’s problems. Like it or not, Romney wasn’t going to pull America back from the brink. Sure, he understood the problems (high spending and big government). But he didn’t fully grasp how to solve those problems and at best only proposed half measures. And while I have heard a lot of pundits blame conservatives not showing up for Romney’s loss, the simple fact is that Romney lost because of who he is. It is not the job of conservatives to keep rolling over and vote carte blanche for whomever the Republicans nominate. You want their votes? Give them a candidate they can actually get behind rather than blackmailing them with the pathetic campaign strategy of, “Yeah, our guy is bad, but he’s not as bad as the other guy!” Consider that Obama got just 61,301,691 votes this year. He received 66,882,230 votes in 2008. That’s 5.5 million fewer votes! Even eight percent of the people who voted for the messiah in 2008 didn’t like him enough to vote for him again! Hell, Obama is so unpopular that even people who did vote for him again were so depressed and ashamed of him. Tthey didn’t dare put Obama yard signs up or slap bumper stickers on their cars. I could count the number I saw on both hands with fingers to spare. The GOP couldn’t get just 5% more people to turn out in 2012? No! Because they gave us another candidate that didn’t inspire anyone to really vote for him. The only motivating factor was to vote against Obama. You don’t win elections that way. At least not reliably. And certainly not when the opposition is enthusiastically voting for their man because he promises to shower them with all sorts for free stuff. Hey, moochers are motivated people! Unfortunately, they are motivated to mooch. Now, I know what some of you might be thinking. You’re thinking that I’m only saying this after the election. Where was I before the election, you ask? Well, I was warning about Romney for over a year. I rated him a “D” in terms of viability and proudly displayed that rating at the top of my website ( LibertyReborn.com ). So I was all over the bad candidate that was Mitt Romney from day one. No, I’m not some Johnny-come-lately. And I am certainly not one of those talking head, pseudo conservatives who hated Romney as a candidate in the primaries, then loved him once he became the nominee, and now hate him again. Nope. I thought he was a bad candidate from the beginning. Look GOP, we’ve tried it your way for a long time. And all that’s happened is that we have a trail of moderate (even left leaning) corpses, politically speaking, to show for it. Maybe it is time to try the winning philosophy of putting conservatism on the ballot against liberalism? How about we give that a try in 2016? Well … if America survives that long … [1] http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/president/ [2] https://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&tbo=d&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7ADRA_en&q=2012+presidential+election+results&oq=2012+presidential+election+results&gs_l=serp.3..0i3l2j0i7j0j0i5l2j0i8l2j0i8i10j0i8.6547.7297.0.7547.4.2.0.0.0.0.250.422.0j1j1.2.0.les%3B..0.0…1c.1.lxc1GhV-VMQ Moderate Romney Fails To Deliver for GOP by J.J. Michelle Obama Worried Liberals Too Stupid, Too Dependent To Vote?

It’s a hard life being a liberal.  You apparently don’t know how to do anything.  Worse, not knowing how to do anything prohibits you from voting for your fellow liberals.  Don’t take my word for it.  Just ask Michelle Obama. In an impassioned plea to her husband’s base, Michelle laid out all the reason why liberal loyalists had to get out early to vote: “You wake up on Election Day – you might have a cold, babysitter gets  sick, it’s raining, car broke down, I mean I could go on – toilet  overflowing.  There are so many ways to mess up a day when you don’t have a lot of time.” [1] Gee, it almost sounds like Michelle Obama is worried that God has it in for her husband.  What with all these potential calamities she envisions befalling his minions.  Damn that evil God person … Michelle always knew He was an evil Republican! Seriously though?  An overflowing toilet prevents you from voting on Election Day?  Ok, how about this?  You shut off the water and stop the toilet from overflowing.  Well GOLLY!  Gee, never thunk about that … a-yup! Then, after turning off the water, get your butt down to the polls, vote, then come home and deal with the toilet.  Or are Obama’s core supporters unable to figure this out?  It’s a rhetorical question.  The answer is obvious. Babysitter calls off sick?  Uh … just a thought here, but how about getting neighbors or family to watch the kids?  Heck, you could just take them with you.  Kids are allowed to go to the polls, in case you didn’t know. You have a cold?  A cold?  Gee, I’d be more worried about something more serious, like cancer, sidelining me.  Because a “cold” is hardly going to stop someone, who wants to vote, from getting to the polls. It’s raining?  Hmmm … how about grabbing an umbrella?  No, apparently that’s too difficult for the average Obama voter. Car breaks down?  Well, isn’t that what your “Obama Phone” is for?  Call someone to come pick you up!  Or, perish the thought, you could just walk. Like I said, it sure is tough being an incompetent liberal who doesn’t know how to do anything.  If I had to rely on these sorts of sorry souls to do something for me, I’d be worried too.
